Investigation on correlation between acupunctural depths

Abstract

As an ancient medical means, acupuncture and moxibustion have been handed down to thesedays. More and more studies show that acupuncture and moxibustion have significant therapeutic and rehabilitative effects. With the research of acupuncture and moxibustion, acupoints and meridian system have also been analyzed to a certain extent. Different acupuncture depths at the same acupoint achieve different therapeutic effects. This article mainly discusses the acupunctural treatment effect of acupuncture point under different depths of acupuncture. Two related papers on Neiguan point (PC6) and Zusanli point (ST36) are mainly analyzed for discussion and investigation. According to those papers we evaluated, the effects of acupuncture at Neiguan acupoint and Zusanli acupoint found to have the most therapeutic and rehabilitative effects on the depths of 2-3mm and 5mm, consecutively.
